Meet Edmund Stone

His voice has been heard on television and radio for decades. Rich, warm and reassuring tones, perfect diction, friendly, deep bass tones. His voice has been described as “chocolate over gravel”.

Edmund grew up on an English farm, listening constantly to BBC Radio where he developed an early fascination for entertainment. His public appearance began in his late teens, touring with local theatre in a production of Romeo and Juliet. In Scotland his love for radio, film and writing merged together when he became a film correspondent for BBC Radio and Thompson Publications.

In the ‘80s the BBC sent him to cover the Academy Awards and subsequently moved to Hollywood where he interviewed Alfred Hitchcock and Mel Blanc. His perfect English accent and diction narrated more than 1,000 education audio stories.

In Portland, Oregon he joined the classical radio station as an on-air host, where he created - and writes, directs and hosts - The Score, an award-winning internationally syndicated radio program on film music. His friendly, comfortable style made him a sought-after master of ceremonies for dozens of events in the community, narrating with orchestras and joining panels as a film expert.

With his syndicated film music program, Edmund has interviewed hundreds of composers, orchestrators, musicians and directors including leading film composers such as Michael Giacchino, Hans Zimmer, Danny Elfman and dozens more.
